ABSTRACT:
The geodetic aspect of GNSS
The global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) play an important role in geodesy since the beginning of civil application of GNSS. Over time, many countries or coalition of countries have developed their own GNSS that tends to the unification and interoperability. Geodetic use of GNSS is defined by a determined position of an arbitrary point with high precision, accuracy and reliability that is necessarily related to a proper handling of GNSS observations, GNSS biases and the concept of modern coordinate systems. High precision, accuracy and reliability is possible only when the congruency of GNSS observations, satellite positions and position of reference points is assured, when GNSS biases are eliminated and when a proper processing of GNSS observations is performed.

POVZETEK:
Geodetski vidiki GNSS
Globalni navigacijski satelitski sistemi so v geodeziji prisotni od samega začetka izrabe sistemov za civilne namene. Skozi čas so različne države oz. skupine držav razvile različne sisteme GNSS, ki pa v splošnem težijo k poenotenju in interoperabilnosti. Geodetska uporaba GNSS pomeni določen položaj poljubne točke z visoko natančnostjo, točnostjo in zanesljivostjo, kar pa nujno zahteva ustrezno obravnavo opazovanj GNSS, pogreškov v opazovanjih GNSS in koncept modernih koordinatnih sistemov. Visoka natančnost, točnost in zanesljivost je možna le ob skladnosti opazovanj GNSS, položajev satelitov in položajev danih točk, ob odstranitvi pogreškov, prisotnih v opazovanjih GNSS, in pri ustrezni obdelavi opazovanj GNSS.
