POVZETEK
Za komunikacijo med napravami v internetu stvari je na voljo več različnih radijskih tehnologij. Vsaka ima lahko svoje prednosti in slabosti. Izbor je močno odvisen od namena uporabe in naših zahtev. V ospredje bomo postavili tehnologije NB-IoT, LTE-M in prihajajoči NR-RedCap, ki jih pri zagotavljanju povezljivosti uporabljamo mobilni operaterji. Pogledali si bomo tehnološke razlike med njimi, kako jih umestiti v različne načine uporabe in kako primerne za prihodnost so obstoječe tehnologije in delujoče rešitve, ter katere so nove tehnologije, ki širijo obzorja povezovanja IoT naprav. Za marsikatero podjetje je radijski del IoT napravic novo področje, ki ga težje obvladujejo. V ospredje ponovno prihaja znanje o načrtovanju in izdelavi strojne opreme (HW), saj specifične zahteve uporabe zahtevajo prilagojeno oblikovanje napravic. Kako se spopadamo z njimi? Kaj vse nam ponujajo zaledni sistemi, da nove IoT napravice kar najhitreje lahko spravimo v uporabo? Kako smo omejeni s podatki in na kaj moramo misliti v procesu, ko prehajamo iz koncepta v produkcijsko fazo?

ABSTRACT
Several different radio technologies are available for communication between devices in the world of Internet of Things. Each can have its advantages and disadvantages. The choice strongly depends on the purpose of use and our requirements. We will focus on NB-IoT, LTE-M and the upcoming NR-RedCap technologies used by mobile operators to provide connectivity. Differences between them are crucial to properly place them in different use cases. Major question is also how future proof are existing technologies already. What bring new technologies that expand the usability of IoT world? Radio part of IoT devices is a new area of development for many companies. Know-how about hardware design for radio devices is a must in IoT world. How do we face that fact? What do back-end systems offer us to get new IoT devices up and running as quickly as possible? How limited are we with amount of data and what do we need to think about in the process moving to production phase?
