ABSTRACT:
Examples of use of radio technologies in modern consumer products
Modern consumer products, especially gadgets, usually do not stand out for their breakthrough technology, but more likely for innovative way of usage of already existing technologies, and new applications originating from them.
Two examples of such products, which are results of Slovenian development, are smart Doppler radar Scoutee and smart walkie-talkie Gotoky. The first one is a smartphone-connected pocket-size Doppler radar, intended especially for speed measurement in different sports. The second one is a two-way radio device based on common UHF standards, also connected to the smartphone. In both cases smartphone is used as a user interface to control the device and also as an extension to basic device offering numerous extra functionalities and features, being much harder to implement without a smartphone. Those additional features also offer the main competitive advantage over similar products on the market.
In the presentation basic concept of both products including their technical background will be presented. An emphasis will be on radio frequency technologies used.

Primeri uporabe radijskih tehnologij v sodobnih izdelkih za potrošniški trg
Pri sodobnih potrošniških izdelkih, predvsem malih napravah (t.i. »gadgetih«), danes večinoma niso v ospredju prebojne tehnološke inovacije v smislu novih tehnologij, ampak bolj v inovativnem izkoriščanju in predelavi že obstoječih tehnologij in na njih temelječih novih primerih uporabe.
Dva primera tovrstnih izdelkov, ki sta plod slovenskega razvoja, sta »pametni« Dopplerjev radar Scoutee in »pametni« walkie-talkie Gotoky. Pri prvem gre za s pametnim telefonom povezan Dopplerjev radar v žepni velikosti, namenjen predvsem meritvi hitrosti v športu. Pri drugem pa za radijsko napravo, temelječo na walkie-talkie standardu, prav tako povezano s pametnim telefonom. Telefon v obeh primerih služi kot uporabniški vmesnik za upravljanje z napravo ter napravi nudi številne dodatne možnosti in funkcionalnosti, ki bi jih sicer bistveno težje ponudila in ki ji dajejo tudi glavno konkurenčno prednost pred že obstoječimi sorodnimi izdelki na trgu.
V prispevku bo predstavljen osnovni koncept obeh izdelkov ter njuno tehnično ozadje, predvsem z vidika uporabljenih radijskih tehnologij.
