Thin film ferroelectric materials are receiving increased attention because of their potential in producing tunable microwave circuits. We present ferroelectric materials and their use in tunable microwave devices. Thin film BaSrTiO3 (BST) based varactors are manufactured and measured. Potential to make frequency agile devices with the use of ferroelectric based varactor is demonstrated on a low pass filter and phase shifter.
